Absolutely! Halfway through your scenic journey, you’ll cruise into the charming Taylors Valley, offering a quick causal options for refueling. Whether you’re craving a quick energy-boosting snack or a post-adventure celebratory feast, Damascus is your friendly trail town is equipped to cater all your trail hunger cravings.

While helmets aren’t legally required, we can’t stress enough how important it is to protect that noggin! Helmets are highly recommended for all riders to ensure your adventure is as safe as it is thrilling.

You bet! Up at the higher elevations like Whitetop, temperatures can be 5-10 degrees cooler than down below. Lightweight jacket layers are a smart move, especially in spring and fall, to stay comfy as you descend.

Our efficient shuttles get you to the trailhead nice and quick. It’s about a 35-minute scenic ride from Damascus up to Whitetop Station. And from Abingdon to Damascus, you’ll be there in just 25 minutes – more time for pedaling!

Absolutely! We have plenty of pint-sized overachievers who tackle the whole downhill route with ease. Kids as young as 6 or 7 ride it daily during peak seasons, making endless family memories.

You sure can! We’re happy to provide shuttle service only if you’d prefer to cruise the trail on your personal bike. We’ll get you and your wheels to/from the perfect start and end points.

No worries at all – we’ve got you covered! Every group gets a repair kit for basic trailside fixes. Plus, there is a bike patrol team roving the route to lend any extra support needed.

Yes, the Virginia Creeper Trail itself is open year-round for adventurers to enjoy in every season. However, our Blue Blaze Bike & Shuttle services are available during our operating season, which runs from March 1st to November 1st. During this time, we’re here to provide you with bike rentals, shuttle services, and support for your trail experience. Outside of our season, while you’re welcome to explore the trail, our services won’t be available.

We have two rental options for our kiddo renters:

1) Tag-Along Bikes

Give your young cyclist a taste of independence with our tag-along bikes. These innovative attachments connect securely to an adult’s bicycle, allowing children to pedal along while you maintain control. Perfect for kids who have outgrown trailers but aren’t quite ready for solo riding on the Virginia Creeper Trail.

Bring your littlest explorers along for the ride with our comfortable and secure bike trailers. Designed to attach easily to adult bikes, these trailers offer a smooth, safe journey for young children who aren’t ready to pedal the Virginia Creeper Trail on their own.
